Was talking to a friend of mine last night about watches and he asked me what the S.A. bit meant that sometimes seen after a watch model's name/model type. Now I've seen S.A. a few times but I can't seem to find an example right now (how typical
), my initial guess was Swiss Automatic but, like I said, this was just a guess.
Any ideas? Is this a dumb question

?Stuart, is the S.A. you're referring to after the company/brand name? If so (and particularly if the brand is Swiss) then it's just a way of saying that it's a Limited (Ltd) company.
e.g Rolex S.A.
Alternatively you could be talking about something completely different, in whcih case I'll get my coat...

Thanks chaps!
Yes, I was referring to the S.A. being after the name of the watch as in the example you've given though I couldn't remember if I'd seen it after the model name eg Milguass or the brand name eg Rolex, now it all makes sence
Nemisis - I hope that you got all that from a well known internet search engine rather than knowing it all in such detail already
