Getting Rotary watch started!!

Goo evening to you all.
I have just bought a Rotary watch (Argos!!) but is seems to be in 'sleep' mode and there are no instruction on how to get it started. I wonderd if anyone has any ideas?

Also, does anyone know how to use the scale rule type thingy around the bezel?
