Hi, I got some money for my birthday in August to buy a watch but haven't been able to decide what to buy. Was looking at the Tag Aquaracer however would really like a Breitling (not sure why!). What are peoples thoughts on buying used watches over having a new one? Can anyone suggest the best place to buy a used Breitling? Is there anything I should be looking out for?
Thanks, Adrian

Used represents best value IME.

If you join a dedicated watch site, 'used' watches are more often than not perfect (or near enough) condition.

For example a nice navitimer was up recently at £1400 (admitedly without box and papers).

I recently bought a 2nd hand Titanium Chrono Evolution for just over £800. Its absolutely perfect. Bar one scuff that I put on it whilst putting some cuff-links on the very first time I wore it...

Angry is not the word.

I've bought (and sold aka "flipped") used watches in 100% perfect condition. The trick is to find a good source - the usual UK-based watch enthusiast websites are the best places.

I'd highly recommend the Breitling Source website and associated forum. Those guys helped me out alot before I purchased my Navitimer Olympus before Christmas. Some great people there and loads of high quality watches for sale. For new, I've found Andrew Michaels to be excellent.
