Hello
So whilst having my daily look at Jura watches amongst others yesterday I came across meister singer which I am slightly confused by ( doesn't take much usually). Silly question but how are you supposed to tell the time with only an hour hand ? Or is that kinda their USP?
Don't get me wrong I think they are very modern and also elegant looking, I like the designs and clear dial layout but surely as they say on their website a watch is a tool not just for show......? How is it a tool without a second hand or am I missing something?!

Does anyone have one of these watches?

The single hand is just the same as the hour hand on a regular watch, so you tell the time to the nearest 5 minutes or so.

There was a thread a wee while ago.
You just use the hour hand (which is more precise than a normal hour hand) and guesstimate to the nearest 4-5 minutes.

Ah thanks the penny has dropped! So the larger marker between 12 and 1 is 1.30 and so on. Very clever ( well probably not but to me it's pretty cool) They start at about £900 and go to £4000, are they worth it? I suppose that is a subjective question, but are the movements in house and are they independent, or are they modified from elsewhere?
Thanks
Barry

I have one of these:

my weekend watch when you don't really need time to be as accurate as during the week.

I started a thread. Ikemi also kindly pointed out one for sale on TZ-UK which seemed to me to be an absolute bargain at under £300. I'm trying to scratch a vintage diver itch at present so managed to abstain, but it may still be available.
