Hi chaps,

Would you say a Chocolate or Coffee or Dark Black Seiko monster case would be cool?

Didn't Seiko issue a limited edition black cased Monster? Night Monster with a purple Dial IIRC.

Are you thinking of PVD'ing a case Bry? If so, a bracelet too? I would be interested to see the results. smile
I cant imagine a chocolate/coffee one though.

Bry - how much does it cost to DLC / PVD coat a watch? (case & bracelet)

Cost depends on coating thickness and where it's coated.

Cheapest would be 0.5 micron a 2 microns coating would be quite expensive and a 5 microns coating would be VERY expensive.

I reckon a brown watch would like awesome!
I'm not sure a Monster would suit it though...

Black is good - makes for a softer look.

Matt black might look better, but I can't see brown working. There has to be some mileage in different coloured bezels, though.

5 micron coating would be to expensive so like mid hundreds and upwards.

Two tone PVD watches are good like black and copper or black and Gold TiN.

I think I must be the only person who likes a simple, standard, black Monster.

Even the orange face is pushing it for me.

Hi there,

The whole watch watch and bracelet if included has to be totally stripped down and anything that melts below 300c removed so gaskets plastic parts etc etc.

The coating works by line of sight so anything in a recess or out of the way wont be coated.

That moto watch is most likely Gunkote or Cerakote which is applied with a gravity fed HVLP spray gun so not PVD or DLC.

anyone good in the UK offer similar services? I would want them to know what they are doing before they disassemble a watch of mine?

(i have a real hankering for a diver in a very dark copper colour....like the HoK swatch below)

Funds don't allow it but I'd love to get my orange Monster done in matt black or graphite, I think it would look amazing.

So far have sent out about 11grands worth of watches for DLCing oks not tonnes but a start.

With this firm I'm using am hoping to be able to fully disassemble, satin finish and DLC a Seiko SKX007 or SKX779 monster for £100 tops.

£100 to DLC sounds pretty reasonable.
That 007 you posted looks fantastic DLCd, that may well be a future one I want!
