Who has ordered from them? Their prices seem excellent, but I will have to pay import tax, I believe. How much does this add?

Lots, and no you'll be fine, you won't pay anything.

It's more irritating that every other week someone asks whether Creation are 'ok'.

I've got a watch coming from them as we speak. It hasn't reached customs yet so we'll see if I get charged. I'm hoping not.

As has already been said here, Creation are tops and you shouldn't get hit with import tax. Plenty of people (including myself) have used Creation with no issues smile

I know a PH'er who has just been hit with import tax. Doubly annoying as it means obv the money and also the fact that it is delayed so might not arrive for Fri either.

Seeing as it is an Atomic Riseman with Alti stuff that is v annoying. frown

Just to add. I have had no issues when using Creation, but I think that as this is a special shipped from Japan and not their normal base, is why the duty charge has occurred.

I thought they were good value, but take this example:

http://www.creationwatches.com/products/seiko-dive...

It's £177 from Creation.

Yet I can order it new, from a British seller on the bay for the same money:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SEIKO-AUTOMATIC-200M-DIVER-M...

And not have to worry about import tax or long delivery times etc.

Not saying Creation aren't great, as I've heard great things, but it's still worth shopping about...

Received one of these from Creation last week:

Excellent service, no problems with customs.

Receiving mine tomorrow, 25% extra for customs A-Holes from Creation, £13.50 "bullcensored" charge plus £36 VAT.

I presume because Creation use FedEx when they send it directly and mine came direct from Japan from their supplier. If you order from Creation, make sure its them sending it.

That's put me in a bad mood. Oh well, I will be alright when I get it tomorrow I suppose.

Well that doesn't fill me with confidence. Apparently mine's coming on route through/from Singapore which came as a surprise. I thought it was coming from the U.S.

They're based in Singapore.

I think TAS is saying he thinks he got hit with import because, on this occasion, the watch came from Japan.

You can get hit if the watch comes from Singapore, but's it's just about a dead cert if it comes from Japan.

As for Creation, I would check out http://www.citywatches.co.uk/ before ordering just to see if the possible saving is worth the risk of VAT / Customs fees.

Why did I think they were American? Ah well. That's cheered me up a bit biggrin

When will I know if the watch has passed through customs without charge?
