I know there was a thread about these a while ago (or a cheap watches thread where everybody bought one!) but I cannot find it anywhere.

Of the people who bought them or own one what are they like? I am tempted as I need a new daily beater but would essentially be buying blind as I've never seen one on before and nowhere I have visited ever have them in stock.

I can get the navy one on Amazon for £84.

They are pretty nice watches for the money but I'm not sure they're terribly rugged. I broke mine in a few days when I screwed up the day/date mech - my fault.

Mine has been absolutely bombproof, I wear it for work in an engineering environment cannot fault it at all.

I think I paid £48 for mine all in to the door.

Actually got mine before the £50 watch thread started :-)

The 5 stands for:
day
date
water resistant
automatic
shock proof

(Apparently.)

IIRC you changed the day or date during the change over around midnight to 4am? That'd ruin the most lusted after watches...

Had mine for a month or so now and wear it in the rough and tumble of work.

No issues so far. its a great watch for the money you pay for it.

I dug mine out and it's been getting some wrist time this week - still amazes me how light it is for an auto, the complete opposite of the NM (albeit using the same movement)

For sub £50 it still remains a hell of a bargain!

I got an SNKH65 from Creation and put it on a nice tan leather strap. Have worn it daily since, very nice and it keeps almost perfect time (set by my DAB radio).

Did you get charged tax on it?
