Following on from the Tag Repairs thread, and not wanting to do a hit and run mission on said question, can anyone give me some advice on servicing on my Tag Link Automatic? It's about 5 years old, has never been done (probably naughty, but it keeps good time and has no issues), and I'm wondering if the time is nigh to get someone to give it the once-over.

Is the view of the far-more-knowledgeable-than-me great and the good on here that this is needed, and if so should it be done by Tag themselves (and if so how do I go about locating them) or by a local specialist - I'm just south of Manchester, so would welcome and recommendations....

Thank you!

Not by Tag UK, on personal experience with a past watch.

If the watch is keeping good time as mentioned above leave as is, if you use the watch a lot around water it's well worth having the crown and possibly caseback gasket checked or replaced.

Cheers guys - you've pretty much confirmed what I was thinking - it aint broke, and all that.....

Very rarely use it around water - I know that technically I can, but I've got other options to wear which are both cheaper and "more" waterproof, so they get the nod.

Thanks again,

GB

+2 - had to go back twice, then they broke the keeper on the strap somehow, and had to go back again.
Was only a simple service ('98 heuer carrera manual wind re-issue)- nothing had actually gone wrong with it!
