Rolex Service... 20 weeks!
Discussion
I've just put my 3yo Datejust in a for a service, and have been quoted 20 (twenty!!) weeks for completion. The service was going to be carried out over 4 weeks by my local Rolex dealer but it turns out their watchmaker hasn't been trained on the cases used in the later Datejust models, so it's having to go to Rolex themselves...
Am I wrong to feel that's crazy-excessive, or is it par for the course for a service by Rolex?
Cheers
Andrew

The difference in quality is worth the wait.....
How so?I don't have a Rolex, but the first time I sent my watch for a service it took 3 months to come back.
Second time I used watch doctors and they did it in a week for a third of the price and it came back in exactly the same condition as when it came back from the manufacturer. I could not tell any difference (i.e. the watch worked and looked nice). What more can they do?

I was given my rolex by my dad and he'd worn it for 35 years and hadn't really looked after it at all.I don't have a Rolex, but the first time I sent my watch for a service it took 3 months to come back.

Put it for a service 10 years ago and it came back pretty much as new - back then it cost £105 for the service and it was worth every penny.
That said - I aint servicing it again - especially if it costs > £300 and will take half a year.
