Am in the market for something smart but a bit sporty - Have looked at the IWC Yacht Club but felt uninspired. Found the JLC below - can anyone suggest anything else that might be worth considering? Black face, leather rubber strap. Whats the general consensus on JLC ?

Having had a Memovox (only briefly), I'd have another JLC in a heartbeat - beautiful quality, in-house movement, without being too blingy - lovely. smile

I am a real fan of JLC, my issue with the MC range is that the adjusters/crown seem to be too large for the rest of the watch. just seem out of proportion to me.

I'm a JLC fanboy too. Only not the Master Compressor range. They all look blingy to me, with the exception perhaps of the Dualmatic which they don't make anymore (not blingy enough?), and maybe the Geographic and the GMT. I much prefer the Master Control range, but maybe they aren't sporty enough for the OP.

What's your budget?

It's almost hard to believe this is made by the same company that gave us the Reverso...

Indeed. IMO the earlier Master Compressors are better (esp. the MC Geographic) than the Extremes.

I have a Reverso Automatique but still yearn for one of these:

Know little about sporty watches so can't help with any other suggestions concerning the watch the OP is considering. As to the second question about the general consensus on JLC, I can only speak for myself but I rate them in the first rank along with Patek and Lange and perhaps one or two others. They make their movements inhouse and there is integrity and history in the Company. The JLC Reverso is iconic, though not of particular interest to me. I rate their Master Control range very highly and have one with which I am very pleased.

So it's a tick in the box for JLC, but which one is a matter of personal taste.

I'd personally opt for the less 'extreme' Master Compressor Chrono smile It's my current grail watch ... I need a JLC!

I'm pretty sure that Jonathan Davies was wearing one of those when he was doing his 6 Nations punditry. Remember thinking he probably ought to grow another foot or so to carry it off.
