Hi all,
first post in the watch section. Just been reading through the spring MSA mag and spotted this watch.

http://professionalwatches.com/2010/06/edox_wrc_ch...

Don't know much about the brand, and I've almost got as many watches as I have cars, so shouldn't really add to the collection, but really think it's quite unusual and functionally rich.

So:
Who are EDOX ?
Looks like a complex mechanism, will it be reliable?
Should I stay away from a clear 'marketing' model (WRC connection)?

Anybody seen something similar?

You know what - I actually quite like that - love the dial - it's a nice modern style, some great complications - I thought it was quartz but it's actually mechanical, which is quite interesting. Quite unique looking too.

The WRC bit is done tastefully too, fits in well.

I think it'd be too big for me at 48mm and I'm not so keen on the caseback, but that aside it's very interesting - thanks.

Very nice! thumbup

48mm though?!
I appreciate I'm of diminutive stature ( wink) but who can wear these watches?!

I'm not keen on:-
Red chrono pusher
Busy / trying too hard sub-dial at 9
No date
48mm

That aside, it's alright

Nice design. Shame about the size.

It's RRP is £1875 for a quartz movement ... In essence; very reliable, more accurate than automatic, but not as complex as if the same functions were performed by a fully automatic movement. Some might say it's a lot of money for a quartz watch!

I like:

-The dial layout
-Carbon fibre face

I don't like:

-The size
-The 'tyre tread' strap
-The mode selection dial
-The WRC tie in, with the 'placard' on the side of the case
-The case back design
-The oversized red pusher
-The movement
-The price

But then again, I'm not the one wearing it! If you like it, go for it thumbup

I've just checked their site and they have a functioning flash page for the watch, I.e. Press the buttons to activate the race timer. Shame it is a race / sector timer and not a lap timer, which would be better for me, but a great feature of the site.

As for the comments. Think the size may be the issue. My usual watch is either a Daytona or Millgauss, which are 42 I think so it would be quite a bit bigger.

I think you'd have to try one on first to ensure you can live with the size of the watch smile I have 7.5" wrists and I feel my 46mm Glycine Lagunare Chrono is probably the largest I could get away with ... However the Lagunare has a thick diver's bezel, which helps it look smaller than it is. The Chronorally is 48mm of dial, so it's going to look really big!
