I am considering a new watch purchase and a Breguet Maritime has suddenly attracted me to that manufacturer's style. I have a couple of AP's - RO Titanium and Diver, but am getting bored with the house style. I know they are built like tanks and have been 100% reliability but I'm getting bored with the same old shape.
I have looked at Breguet over the years but have always seemed a little too dress watch or office day wear rather than sports/rugged wear.
I'll wear this watch on a daily basis [don't do office & have others for dress] and it will get some hammer so just wondering if any one has experience on reliability of the Maritime model?

I honestly cannot stand the AP RO series. For all the supposed quality, they really do look made of plastic IMHO. Horrible. Sorry. boxedin
I'd choose something from the Breguet Marine range all day long. Classy, sporty, special and a little less ubiquitous.

The "normal" AP Royal Oak and Royal Oak Offshore look great, it's the horrid ROO special editions that look like toy watches.

RO in steel on bracelet like this looks good IMO

I like AP but Breguet have far more class about them.

For me Breguet is in my Top 5 makers. I am not a huge fan of AP.

Both are lovely brands.

I tried on a Breguet recently and I was a little disappointed by the case finishing. There were a few sharp corners etc It just let me done a little.

The AP's I have tried have been incredible, but as mentioned, Breguet do have a lot of class about them.

The Breguet Type XX Aeronvale 100th Aniviversary LE is not too dressy

Breguet no question for me.
I appreciate APs can be lovely, but they aren't a patch on Breguet IMO.

From what I've seen. AP. After seeing them both in the flesh there are only a couple of AP's I'd actually wear.

Thanks for the responses.
I guess owning AP's is rather like Porsche 911's, solid build & styling alters little but with plenty of special editions, where as Brequet are rather Ferrari like - delicate looking but perform well?

Breguet have stunning history as well (if you're into that sort of thing!), which wouldn't normally be a draw for me, but peculiarly is with them. confused

They are generally discreetly pretty (more like a Patek) than the rather brash and in your face APs.
