Well, they seem to make their own movements which sounds good.

There are several British watchmakers, tend to be rather expensive.

From reading between the lines they use old (English - Smiths) movements and extensively rework them.

I don't think either build the movements from scratch. Same goes for Christopher Ward and Harold Pinchbeck.

I do like seeing this on the Smiths:

But the reality is that it's got a Swiss quartz movement.

And if you fancy a chronograph, there's always Offshore to consider...

Apparently uses a modified Valjoux movement.

Recommendation in the UK or the Far East?
The former is easy, the latter I would struggle with! biggrin

Happy to ship the watch to the UK for a well recommended specialist, assuming they are happy to receive said watch!

No one out here seems to have even heard of Smiths, old watches here are Gold Lolex'es

I've dealt with Steve @ Ryte Time and always been happy with his work.
Drop him a mail, I'm sure he'd be able to help.
If he won't accept a watch from abroad, drop me a PM, I'd be happy to act as an intermediary. smile
