I've got a stag night to organise for a mate, it's to be on a weekend in September. I had wanted to get a brewery tour @ Fullers in Chiswick but they only operate during the week. I've left a message for a callback at Wells and Young's in Bedford, the information on www.visitabrewery.co.uk looks promising but i'm not going to hold my breathe.

Has anyone done something similar locally?

It doesn't need to be a big brewery, a micro brewery attached to a pub would be great. Just somewhere we can see the process working then get a skinful of the product (ale, not larger).

Cheers
Kev

There is the Tring Brewery, oddly enough in Tring (!).

I been there to buy stuff, and very nice it was to.

They appear to do Saturday tours;

Buntingford Brewery

They also seem like quite a laugh, these are from there FAQs page:

"Do you offer brewery tours?" Yes, but only if you ask nicely. And are prepared to prove to all your friends, family, colleagues and us, that despite the rumours, you really can organise it - because if you can't, well...

"Do you have a website?" No, sorry.

"Where do you recommend as the best place for a beer?" In a glass, then down your throat.

"I want some labels/beer mats/pump clips for my collection" Firstly, what is the magic word. Secondly, if you are a collector, you'll understand that they cost money, and will accept that our palms will need to be crossed with silver. Otherwise, naff off and find something else to flog on ebay.

I like this bit:

Complaints:

Please write to 'The Person Nearest The Bin', at the above address. On receipt, we will drop everything, launch a full public enquiry, sack the nearest oik, re-write 4,000 volumes of procedure, introduce new laws, and proclaim it will never happen again. Or, if we deem it a proper response, bugger off down the pub - a place where all problems, except self-importance & greed, can be resolved - and bemoan the general lack of Gene Hunt on the telly.

Also added to (the top of) the list. Thanks
