I've just noticed a couple of places where the lacquer has come away, two areas on the bonnet.... Less than a 10p piece. Not devastating but annoying, and I don't want it to get worse. It's on my 2003 Jag X350... Which is aluminium, if that. Makes any difference ?

Anyone had experience of this sort of repair being sorted by the SMART repairers, chips away etc etc.....and any local recommendations in the area ?

Thank you.

You may find a detailer rather than a repairer would help.

Ironically, I have lacquer peel on my rear bumper where chipsaway repaired a dent, then lacquered over the whole bumper without prepping it and its peeling off in a few areas.

It sounds vicious but if you score around the peeling area with a very very very sharp scalpel carefully, you can stop the peel from spreading further...i have done this to good effect.

Thank you for that. Never had any dealings with the dark art of "detailing"..... Any suggestions of anyone in the area ?
