Good afternoon all.

I'm in the process of selling my house in St Neots and looking at places nearer huntingdon - currently considering the Stukeleys and Abbots Ripton. However, just stumbled across the information about the regeneration of Alconbury Weald and the proposed introduction of 5,000 houses over a 20 year period.

Now, I'm in two minds as to how this could affect the local market - lots of new housing stock could take the price of other houses in the area down. Or, with 8,000 proposed jobs, the surrounding areas could be attractive to those looking to benefit from the regeneration and new business, but don't want to live right on the development.

Does anyone know much about the development and/or area and have any thoughts on how it will affect local markets?

Cheers

Rich

ps - I'm not looking at buying for a quick return. This will be a long term family home. But clearly I dont want to stick over £500k into a house that will be halved in value due to a constant development schedule over the next 20 years..
