Aldeburgh Lifeboat & SAR Demo
Discussion
As usual we attended the lifeboat launch and RAF Sea King Demo on Carnival day in Aldeburgh last Monday, unfortunately this year the Winchman was ill so there was no winching demos
Great opportunity to see the guys at work

The gloves have grown since my day!

In Previous years they have winched on/off both Lifeboats

It's good to see The ALB "Freddie Cooper" is back after its re-fit
love the way they plough at speed on to the beach when bringing the craft back in.
the station web site is a good read click here
amazingly there has only been one call out for the all weather boat during 2011
and that was for the stand in ALB "Bingo Lifeline"

It depends on the station. Some are a lot busier than others, and the boat called out depends on where the casualty is. If there is another boat closer, then that is the one that gets called out. Lowestoft and Harwich are either side of Aldeburgh and have both had quite a few callouts this year.
