Mind-boggling stuff. It's exciting to see that the Neutrino theory still has the science community split. No pun intended!

0.0024s expected time and -0.00000006s actual...

If my croculations are correct I make that 0.0025% faster which (based on 186,000 miles/sec) is an extra 465 miles per second = 1,467,000mph. Quite a handy bonus!

Still does my head in trying to follow this.

The density/nature of the medium might be important, in the same way that soundwaves travel faster through water than air.

But rules are made to be broken; they are only rules that fit what we know.

Higgs Boson?

scratchchin

If that were the case? I thought Neutrinos have a very low mass?

If I was writing a new Goon Show it would have to have 'Bosun Higgs' in it...

Are Cern still using all the same kit? at this level a slightly out of wack timing circuit could be enough especially given Neutrinos have been shown to travel at the speed of light.

Hope this isn't caused by an error, hopefully FTL travel will one day be possible.

Actually it would need to be The Navy Lark...

Firing a boson through rock is one thing. Firing a bozo through space is another smile

Heard a great joke about this and the possibility of this implying time travel.....

The barman said "we don't serve neutrinos in here"

A neutrino walked into a bar
