Type 45 Destroyers

Just come back from the waterfront and all 4 Type 45`s are moored together, 2 abreast,an impressive sight you won`t see often, boy are they big, ugly mothers! Also alongside a Type 42 (York?) and a 23 both dwarfed by the 45`s, well worth a look if you are local

Interestingly they're almost exactly the same size as HMS Warrior.

Not the best looking ships but presumably all that slab sided angularity drops the radar cross section a fair bit.

thanks for link, excellent program, filled last hour nicely.

Those T45s are brilliant. All we need now is 12 of them, 6 astutes, 2 QE carriers and 80 F35s and we're untouchable.

Isn't there a planned 'baby' T45 due in next few years? Global combat ship or something?

I know it will never happen, and I know they are obsolete, but that list needs just one adding.
A Battleship. Something bigger than the Missouri, 4 turrets with huge guns, masses of smaller guns and anti aircraft guns.

Call her the Hood, or Royal Oak or Dreadnought.

Just because they look and say 'fk Off!'.
