Just read an intesting thread on PPRuNe about Spitfire underwing storage points being modified in a way that would allow beer kegs to be attached for delivery to forces overseas..

It sounds like something an English Bilco with a handlebar moustache would come up with.

I remember a story about a Vulcan bringing some champagne back in the bomb bay, IIRC, they had to stay at low altitude to prevent the unpressurised bay from popping the corks.

I've heard it rolled like a barrel


I've seen reference to these 'airborne brewery drays' in some pilot's biography, can't think who's though. I'm sure they got used just after D-day.

remember attacking a F15 exchange detachment from Bitburg using a couple of barrels of Theksons old Peckulier back in 1987. They were soo hungover, they couldn't fly or operate for 2 days after!
