Ok another picture thread here. But as a kid I remember how cool some of the ordinance used to look on my Airfix kits. So let’s see pics of your favourite military bombs, projectiles and missiles etc.

As a starter for ten here is the coolest missile ever, I give you the Bloodhound. It looks like it was designed by Gerry Anderson:

Here's a few:

B52 load

Tornado releasing JP233

22,000lb (10 tonne) Grand Slam bomb

Quote on wiki about these:

"A live Grand Slam bomb was accidentally displayed as a gate guardian at RAF Scampton for over a decade before the mistake was realised. It was gingerly removed (by crane and low-loader) to the test range at Shoeburyness, where it was detonated"

Could it carry all that at the same time?

They aren't small either, there is a white one near me at the 'secret missle site'.

Love the gate guardian story hehe

No hard hats.
No Hi-Viz vests.
Both appear to be handling the load when it is above waist height.
I'll bet they have also failed to complete a Lifting Plan and a Task Risk Assessment!

Looks like a Rapier. I remember the Royal Tournament at Earl's Court when they "fired" one across the arena. Was quite impressive until they kicked off with the pilfered Argie AA battery. Good god that was noisy indoors. No doubt wouldn't be allowed these days!

Anyway, some other stuff.
