Maho Beach - St Martin

Just spent a week in St Martin, staying right next to Maho Beach. I managed to get a lot of people who had no interest in planes on that beach many times and captured these:

Hmm I fancy a holiday, St Martin sounds like a good place for me to go. And that beach right below the runway is bloody brilliant, an Aviation Head's dream for pictures.

In that last shot of the beach, the blast is so strong it's blown the 'M' off that sign in the background.

The Mrs and I went to St Maarten (for a day) on a cruise 3 years ago... wanted to go the beach... the Mrs wanted to shop... I lost..

If you search on YouTube there's vids of peeps who hang on to the fence and get lifted up as the aircraft take off.

I regret the $20 we spent getting a taxi to Phillipsburg. The shopping was awful!

I have such a video of some of my colleagues doing just that - still looking for it!

Not as warm, but that's not too dissimilar to Felton Common and watching jets coming into land at Bristol. Not as low, but quite low, low enough to feel the vortices and smell them.

Meinhotel Hamburg, will be staying there next week.
Will move if sleeping is only possible with Peltor Optime3, though.
