29TH MAR: Mach Loop

Made the disgustingly hard climb up bluebell on Thursday, weather was great and so was the company. If it wasn't for 'Ginis' flight the day would have been a bit of a washout apart from a very nice 15 Squadron Tornado GR4.

Well I haven't cleaned the tails so they really are that clean

Sorry, it was a joke-ette.

I'm a keen modeller, and there is always debate about how realistic certain weathering techniques are, mostly along the lines of that weathering on models is often vastly overdone. If a model was weathered and presented exactly like the F-15 in the fourth picture, most of the armchair modellers would have a fit at:

a) The amount of the dirt on a 'modern' aircraft

and

b) The fact that the tail surfaces look very clean.

ETA It therefore wasn't a 'negative' [ha ha] comment on your photographs - which as I've said in the past, are superb.

How the fook do you take pics like that of targets moving at that speed that are that sharp?
