QE Class Sections to leave Portsmouth on Sunday

For those interested, the first sections of the ship (T-Ring and U-Ring) will be leaving Portsmouth on the back of a barge on Sunday evening, due past "round tower" at around 1730-1800, could be quite a sight for those in the area, though this sight will be blitzed by the departure of the main block from Portsmouth on 25th May.

And after LB02 goes, will Portsmouth build anything else...

Just because they've started building the double bottoms, doesn't mean they'll build the block. Ship 1's double bottoms where built elsewhere.

Depends how they decide to build it, if they do it in a similar fashion to T45, then Pompey will get some of the work, though not really enough to retain all the skilled people we've got.

Looks pretty rough, it's not going to be a nice journey to Rosyth, I bet that barge handles like.......well...a barge really!

LB04 will be immense as the biggest single piece.
I'll be going to see LB02 load-out on 15th May, it sails for Rosyth on 25th May (at the moment), I'll be abroad so will miss it though.
