Was out and about this afternoon when I spotted a couple of Eurofighters circling the local area. Fortuntately I had the camera in the back of the car and time to pull over and take a couple of quick snaps. I assume these are the ones moved in to Northolt for the Olympics. Nice to see them stretching their legs.

Seconded. Was great, out in the middle of nowhere next to some rape fields, the landy engine drowned out by these guys circling on afterburner. Absolutely fab.

Living very near to the Northolt flightpath, I've been hearing them on and off all day, makes revision a bit more tolerable! Also just this minute seen one of them coming in to land, so playtime's over for today I guess!

Just had one, possibly two, doing high speed turns with afterburner on over south bucks a few moments ago. Fantastic sound and by 'eck do they have a small turning radius.

I live half a mile away from Northolt and was walking and all of a sudden the police stopped pedestrians and cars.

I knew Eurofighters were coming to Northolt but I had no idea when. Saw some guys with hefty camera's next to me, so I whipped my phone out and got this;

Fair to say, I was slightly shocked.
Been flying round here with full afterburners. Sound blooming amazing.

I'm also in the south Bucks area and heard them as well. Only managed to get a glimpse of them through some trees with the afterburners going. What a fantastic noise they make!

Just a thought

Hope they get to carry something more deadly than decibels when they are actually protecting the capital.

Cheers Fella's! Was a really lucky shot if I'm honest. Shame I didn't have my proper camera with me, would of made a blinding shot.

And the Typhoons come with a 27-34(I think those are the sizes) Millimeter cannon as standard.

But they may have Air to Air to stop anything stupid happening like hijacked planes though.
Probably Aim-9 Sidewinders.

Nice photo Liam,

Looks like it has 2 (maybe 4) asraams fitted on outer wing pylons (not aim9L) but possibly inert judging by the dark band (live weapon would have yellow and brown bands) - hard to tell from photo.. It also has some AMRAAM fitted under the fuse, but again probably inert. Live rounds maybe fitted later perhaps, nearer the olympics. The gun is a single 27mm Mauser in the right wing root.

Eight coppers to stop a single carriageway and one footpath... Whadyu reckon, three weeks of planning meetings and risk assessments? "Operation STOP" LOL

Had a couple of Tiffies playing around over Sunbury yesterday. Made a nice change from the usual boring stuff we get from Heathrow flying over us.

They were just doing laps above the house here in Essex

What a fantastic noise they make ripping up the air, shame it's so cloudy

I live near Biggleswade and the noise of those beauts on afterburner was awesome.

I hope they were having fun and don't have to put the training to the test during the Olympics.
