Turbulence and loose stuff

My OH visited the world travel market with her then employer last year. She came home with a lovely Emirates A380 brochure for me which she'd picked up there. One of the pics inside shows the bar section in part of the plane... bottles of wine, champagne, etc. and the relevant glasses all set-out in a most fetching manner. But what happens when the plane hits turbulence? Do they just leave the stuff in situ and hope the ride doesn't get too bouncy, or does someone have to quickly tidy the whole lot away so it doesn't end up shattered and scattered around the cabin... or are the scenes depicted in these brochures the stuff of myths?

A quick google came up with this;
Within ten seconds of putting the main up, the whole lot would be in a million pieces on the floor.
I would guess it's just marketing guff.

Virgin A340's have a bar in upper class. You can sit on a bar-stool and there are no seatbelts. The glasses sit in a rack and the bottles sit on the bar. No real precautions, but if heavy turbulence is expected, everything is cleared pretty quick and folks sent back to their seats. I imagine other aircraft are the same.
A380 bar is as per the promotional images you've seen.
There are small metal rails that hold the glasses in place, but the small dishes of snacks and plates of canapes do just sit on the side... in the event of serious turbulence they would, indeed, fall off.
The 380 also has seatbelts in this area, so that you don't need to return to your seat, you can simply belt up in the bar!
For the record, the showers in 1st also have belts (no bar though!!)

Same as the bar on their 747's. Everything is "loose" but if the seatbelt signs come on then it's cleared.
