PVC Dinghy Seam Repair

Hi all,

I have a Narwhal PVC dinghy that is older than I am - It's covered in patches but today following a clean, I foolishly left it in the sun and approx 4" of the seam has come apart - no damage so I am assuming the glue has melted.

It has split in the area circled below (Not my picture)



The black bumpstrip sits over the top of the seam, with the two pieces of the main dinghy glued on an overlap underneath it - this is where the glue has failed.

Does anyone know if it is possible/economically viable to carry out a repair in this area?

Polymarine do all kinds of glue...the 2 part stuff is the best...however I would have a very good look at the rest of it before starting. You do not want the rest of the sponson splitting on you when being used!

i used INFLATABLE BOAT ADHESIVE FROM MARINE BAZAAR IN PLYMOUTH 15.95 TWO PACK EASY TO USE .I DID COMPLETE BOTTOM OF BOAT .NOW ALL OK
