It would be even better if it was a Hawker Hunter.

I thought last time that didn't go down too well for the pilot concerned?

Slightly o/t but the RN choppers regularly fly under the Erskine Bridge (Glasgow) if the cloud base is low - usually on their way to/from the main hospitals.
It is a lot taller than Tower Bridge though! Apparanetly they have about 100 feet all round 'spare' when they go through - must still take a bit of bottle at night....

I've been P2 in an r22 under a drainage ditch bridge in Spain. Perhaps there was 1ft beneath water and skids, and 5ft above main rotor head. Tower bridge is for pussies.

Blimey, that's incredibly brave - flying in an R22 wink

Pah, I once flew a Learjet under the road deck of Tower Bridge, and flew Concorde under the Dartford crossing, in the same afternoon.

Two helicopters, one apparently filming the other, went through twice about an hour ago.

Indeed, Ray Hannah - a flying legend, I believe the above was for 'A Piece of Cake'

He also did the Goodwood pit straight - wish I could've been there for that smile

All a bit tame when it came down to it. They could at least have been going a bit faster.

Might not be for an action scene, and if it was, they would no doubt cut and edit in some way to give a sense of speed and danger that is missing in that clip.

Oh, the Spitfire at Goodwood pass. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnc78LW7V1U

Might not even be for a Bond film. The lead helicopter looks like it has a bit of a "British Olympic" colour scheme.

Also I don't think it's a Police helicopter following - looks like its PDG the aerial filming company.

Earlier in the afternoon the smaller helicopter did a couple of lower and apparently faster runs down the Thames before pulling up to pass (just) over the top of the bridge. So presumably the helicopters eye view from that will be shown just before the pass through the bridge.

According to the Express website it was for the Olympics.
