Ta - it was absolutely rammed with people too which has to be a good thing.

I was going to go there but missed it in the end. Do you know if entry closed due to capacity at all. I mean could you have turned up an hour before the flying started and still got in? Was traffic bad?

I understand all the flying display is above you but If i'd gone with some young children would it be easy enough for them to see loads?

I don't know, but there were loads of - presumably - amateur photographers with what looked like very expensive gear.

Not sure whether they closed the car parks.

We got there at about 10:00 IIRC and just drove straight in. I can't say at what point (if at all) traffic got busy, but the airfield itself got very busy just before the display, but it was fine. We left after the final dispaly and were on the M11 within about 15 minutes of starting the car.

The barriers along the crowd line always get full pretty quickly, but unless you want a totally clear view of the arcraft taxiing then it's not a problem to stand a bit back. We were on the grass at the left of the runway and all you needed to do was stand up to see aircraft taxiing around and past you. Put you kid on your shoulders and they'd have a grandstand view.

Plenty of people watch the flying from near the hangers.

ETA I took the missus and kids (2 & 5) and they loved it. The Typhoon was a bit loud, but it made an impression: My son & I built a Lego version on Saturday, and when my daughter saw it she put her fingers in her ears.
