I was on holiday last week when some tt decided to come through the swimming / paddling area in their speed boat. Despite the owner clearly being a selfish and incompetent ahole he did have the coolest boat I've ever seen.

As the boat approached the shore I was waiting for the clunk as the prop grounded but it just carried on revealing three legs, at the end of each was a balloon tire. The boat just drove up the beach and appeared to be using a PTO (hydraulic drive?) from the outboard. The boat then 'knelt' to let the passengers off.

So what was this marvellous contraption? Is it a retrofit thing or part of the boat design?

One of these?

The helmsman sounds like a right tt though! The wheels are powered by hydraulics via a generator, not the outboard.

Those are the fellas. Thanks. Any idea of their cost, I couldn't find one on their site?

How much!?! yikes

That's an awful lot of money for essentially a big RIB. A very very cool toy, but for that money, my toy would have sails I'm afraid. Still, it would make me giggle driving up the beach in one hehe
