"Por Favor - I meant to say "the plane needs a jack when it lands". Not "the plane has just been hijacked and we're all gonna die".

I can see how the miscommunication arose.

Yup, WWII bomb, 365 passengers removed from the plane safely, now on the radio too, sounds like its happned a few times as the airfield was bombed heavily in the war.

>Police have confirmed that they believe this is a hostage situation.

sounds like the airline public relations team have responded. "everything is wonderful,
the food on board is very good blah blah..."

The alert was separate to the F16 intercept.

Daily Outrage said:
A plane with 180 passengers on board was surrounded by security forces today following suspicions a hijacker was onboard.
Two F-16 fighter jets went supersonic in their efforts to intercept the airbus, which was bound for Amsterdam's Schiphol airport from Malaga.
But when the plane finally landed, security forces discovered that there was no hijacking, and the pilot had simply lost radio contact, arousing suspicion.
Neither Schiphol airport nor the Dutch Defence Ministry were immediately available for comment.
