I have driven up that valley near the end alongside the River, awesome stretch of road but you have to watch out for cops. Would recommend it for anyone considering a West Coast trip, San Fran to Portland is better than San Fran - LA which is what everyone tends to do.
PS, I feel sick from watching that but I can't even look at a Waltzer at a fair without getting dizzy.
