Name that plane crash!

Wasn't sure whether to post this here or in TV&film, but I think this is more appropriate; there is a airliner crash at the beginning of the rubbish B movie 'The Elite' which looks a lot like stock footage, the aircraft looked a bit like a 737 but the sequence was very short and I wasn't paying a lot of attention. Does anyone know if it's a real crash(which seems possible but unlikely) or some experimental crash effects test? I watched the first 5 minutes and then gave up as the film is shoite even by 'straight to video' standards.

Fying blind here but would it have been the same footage shown as the in-flight movie in 'Airplane'?

Don't know; is there a youtube clip of that? I looked but couldn't find one. There's a clip of the crash sequence in a 'The Elite' trailer here, at about 1.05.

Similarly, IIRC the real film of the sinking of the battleship HMS Barham, in which 841 sailors died, has been used in various movies.

Some of them were war films (fair enough), including one where Barham stands in for the Yamato, but there was also a 1950s sci-fi B-movie where the footage is used for an American destroyer being blown up by flying saucers!
