That's not the Indonesian Naval Jack it's flying, builder's flag or as you think made up flag for a film.

Its part of three build contract for a revolutionary trimaran composite design! The Americans also looked into using composite but weren't too keen how it handles fires, now I understand that!

What's the theory behind stealth ships? Does it just reduce the range at which they can be detected?

Or a smaller footprint on the radar so all you see is a small paddling boat while looking for a 100+ foot Missile boat.

Either way whether it makes you seem like something else on a radar screen on simply not detected until you get closer it gives you the theoretical first shot. Also if you are targeted by a radar guided missile it will give the missile a slightly harder time getting a good lock possibly making it easier to trick with counter measures.

Even our new 65,000t carriers are being made with a reduced radar signature in mind.
