Airbus Gets Order For 100 Planes
Discussion
Air Asia, the budget airline owned by F1's Tony Fernades, has ordered 100 A320s. Good for British jobs and Europe as well.

I would expect these to be built in Airbus' Chinese factory rather than Europe.
I could be wrong but I believe that wings would still be manufactured in Broughton for the Chinese factory, much in the same way that Broughton is supplying wings for the US Airbus factory.Good for me as my firm has a number of machines onsite in Broughton so need them to keep building.
Impressive in isolation, but it's not exactly unheard of, or even that large an order when put in context:

Those numbers bear no resemblance to what the airlinnes actual pay! The only buyers that pay anything remotely like list are Corporate/Business jet buyers everyone else expects massive concessions, especially on a 100 aircraft order, Fishtigua said:
Aren't the Pratts made at the RR factory in Singapore?
RR do build 50% of the V2500s in Derby but it is unlikely that they would be one of the assembly centres for the PW1000. Both companies do have facilities on the same campus in Singapore though.RR Trent assembly and test along with wide cord fan blade manufacturing :

Why would you expect that? The Chinese lot are flat out building for the domestic market.
Given the back log on single aisle at the moment (I think it might be 4 years or so?) I think Airbus be seriously interested in a new single aisle production line somewhere.

It's my understanding that the Chinese single aisle factory is for Chinese only.

We were worried about cash flow late '09 on 380 program...completed aircraft [no whitetails no interiors] parked up all over Toulouse...Given the back log on single aisle at the moment (I think it might be 4 years or so?)
