According to the BBC breaking news twitter feed.

There is a picture which has been sent to them - looks horrific.

Fingers crossed it looks worse than it is.

Reports saying 4 crew and 8 pax on board. Looks like it overshot the runway.

Now saying 8 on board all crew.

Vid on BBC news says it could have been due to the weather, pilot error or a technical problem.

So it definitely wasnt due to snakes

Judging by the BBC news footage, the driver of that car was exceedingly lucky!

Jeez... I think that was a row of seats that finally brought that car to a halt. Awful.

Would not mind asking the car driver to pick my lottery numbers. Milliseconds later down that road and I suspect he would not be alive...

If the car in front hadn't braked he'd have got straight through.

A number of reports are suggesting that the ac crashed on its second attempt to land, but replaying it on FlightRadar24 suggests that the first approach was the only one. Notably, the only other hull loss of a TU204 was one that landed short at Moscow's other airport, fortunately with no loss of life on that occasion.

It now appears that the brakes failed on touchdown - the Russian authorities have also confirmed that the plane circled the airport a couple of times although they won't say why.

Seems odd that the plane circled the airport before landing. The good thing is that the plane wasn't full on its return flight. If it was I dread to think how many lives would have been lost.

The in-car footage was a bit scary. My seven year old saw it & said, simply, bugger that looks nasty.......

Have to say I winced when the wheel flew across the road & hit the car. Lucky escape or what?

Balls, he had to brake twice to make sure it hit him.

Would have been even more surprising footage if the pilot has landed on the road. No idea what was going through his head to choose water over the Tarmac!
