Daft question here - this boat will do 75mph according to the video but how long would the fuel last at that rate?
What I mean is, in theory it has an 1800 mile daily range, but I'm guessing it doesnt!
Other than willy waving rights, is there a point to something this fast - I'm not against big yachts so that's not what I'm getting at. It's more like having a Bugatti Veyron. In theory, I could get from where I live to Loch Lomond (242 miles) in under an hour but in reality if I was to drive at 250mph up the M6/M74 I bet I'd be filling up several times!

Slightly slower but I'd have this 60 knot Darth Vader-alike if I was part of the secret ruling class.

Also as to why not a hyrdo-foil I thing that at those speeds it is actually more efficient to plane across the surface than it is to have foil in the water (foils are best at 40-50 knots). Notice that the fastest boats area all hydro-planes not hydrofoils.
Where hydrofoils excel is when you want good ride in moderate seas at high speed.
