Lots of familiar faces and aeroplanes there. I haven't been at the Nationals since 2009, and 2006 since I managed to obtain any additional metalwork to take home.

Good to see G-LOOP still going strong - I thought DS had terminally stuffed it at Sandown a few years ago - I remember him managing to set it on fire at the pumps at Conington owing to an over-rich starting attempt, everyone in the vicinity rushing to pull it away from the pumps, much to the dismay of the Extra 230 driver they were pulling it towards standing in the cockpit yelling "Well, don't ****ing bring it over here, take it somewhere else to explode!".

Happy memories of the pre-competition briefings at Conington - being crammed into that back room, everyone rather tense, wanting to get on with it...maps plastered on the wall...weather looking set for the traditional howling cross-wind on the main runway, and then from the back of the room a low growling voice saying "Right, chaps, tonight....it's Berlin".
