An article on the BBC website highlights the size container ships are now reaching

Enormous !

I wonder, did she visit Southampton much? I lived from 1970 to 1997 in a house with a view across Southampton Water, probably watched you go past!

I don't know if she operated out of Southampton regularly - she worked out of Tilbury the trip I did on her. I do know she was in drydock in Southampton in spring 1982 though, as I visited her there ( I was doing my Marine Engineering OND at what is now Solent University, but was the College of Higher Education back in the 80s )

What's amazed me with that isn't the size of the ship, but the scale of costs and revenues associated with fossil fuels.

Estimated 12billion. That is colossal. I wonder what the ROI is?

Not sure but if it produces 110,000 BOE per day & assuming a BOE LNG of $20 it will pay for itself in around 15 years (many assumptions made here)
