Somehow, I'd never even heard of this aircraft before:



A sad tale of an wonderful project that never saw completion thanks to WW2. Thankfully it seems a group of enthusiasts are building a working replica which will be powered by two Suzuki Hayabusa engines (Bugatti originals are a little pricey apparently). Yea I looked at the project... How many people get 3/4 of the way through a project though and then it all got ass of end

For what reason? Cost?

Plenty of flying models out there that appear to prove the overall concept.

It would be a great subject for a "What If" model of a WW2 fighter version.

Looks like rear engine; not popular as in the event of a crash the engine goes through the pilot on its way out.

No, I assume it's piloted, just saying that the overall concept appears to work.

Piloted, from what I have read they have been waiting for the complex gearbox that has been reversed engineered in the UK and has just arrived completed in the US.

Fantastic. I have never heard of this aircraft. It looks like one hell of a project. I look forward to seeing it completed.

It is a lovely looking aircraft - quite small aswell. Not sure I'd be up for flying it tho. Could be interesting.

Engine"S" - it has one for each propeller.

It's not just a pretty aircraft but one that will hopefully be flying soon. It's a hell of a project and I'm glad that there's still people in the world willing to take-on such tasks. Without people like that the world would be a very boring and stagnate place to live.

I wish them the very best of luck and have punted some cash their way to help out

Apart from the u/c, it almost looks like it was designed to have a propeller at each end, like the Dornier Do335:

An open-ended, cut-out cylinder - not the best structure for a crumple zone!

I think I'd feel very vulnerable in there.

Best not to mention the route the drive shaft from the engines behind the cockpit goes to the gearbox upfront then.
