Boat ready

We have a little Salcombe Flyer 440 (think lighter Boston Whaler) with a two stroke Mercury 60.

Just de-wintered it (flush engine, run until smoke clears) rubbed it down with rubbing compound, polished it (the blue gelcoat is fading) with rotary polisher, filled a few cracks, anti-fouled part of the hill. Rather tiring but satisfying!

Ready for some good weather now.

Yes, it has been a long and tedious winter. Sometimes you wonder why we bother keeping boats in this freezing over-priced dump of a country. And then there is a vaguely warm day and we all go 'whee!' and forget about the other 364.

Indeed. At least ours is now in a free boat shed now rather than on a vastly overpriced pontoon mooring. The lack of convenience is easily offset by the dryness and freeness!
