Cosford Air Show

Cosford Air Show is scheduled for the 9th June.
Never been to an air show before but I'm desperate to do a lot of things I've never done this year.
Cosford will have a flying demo of the Vulcan and it's one of the few flying demos I would be able to make.
Is it any good or should I try for a better show?

From personnel experience I've worked at cosford airshow 2009, 2010, 2011 and I'm there again this year.
I find it to be more of a Sunday market with a possible flying display if the weather plays nice, and I can't remember a dry year I've worked there where flying hasn't cancelled. However the museum is very good but is free all year round.
Personally I'd go for RIAT as the show to go to. You get all the international teams attending, miles and I do mean miles of static aircraft and they have all the manufacturers showing off there latest models and so on.

I lived in Albrighton for a couple of years - we never went to the airshow, as we were able to enjoy the flypasts from our house. I recall that in 2010 it was a warm, humid and eventually showery day - I spent the afternoon washing cars on the drive, with all manner of things flying over - the highlight being a typhoon and spitfire flying together.

I enjoyed Duxford a few times in 2010 and 2011. 16 Spitfires at the BoB anniversary was very good. My father has gone to Eastbourne every year for the last few years and loves seeing the planes flying over the sea at or below cliff height.
Depending on what you're after from an airshow, I really enjoyed Bruntingthorpe's Cold War Jets. Loud and live in front of you, but without the flying

The year before last was a washout, over the last 15 years I've probably been to 7 and that was the only one that was wasted. If you are after the Vulcan display balance the chances of poor weather at Cosford early in season against the chances of the Vulcan being grounded due money/ tech later!
