PIA709 (a B777 from Lahore to Manchester) declared an emergency earlier. I picked it up on FlightRader over Doncaster. It's now heading out over the East coast near Whitby! It would have had less distance to go to get to Manchester. What's all that about?

Hi-jacking being put into Stansted??? Isn't there a special quarantine area there?

(Pure speculation of course)

Stansted is a good call, looks like the airspace is pretty clear in that part of the country too.

Sky are saying that the Typhoons are still in the air, but the plane isn't on flight radar any more?

No it's stopped with the transponder switched off.

Sky saying now that it's landed and that the captain of the plane is quite relaxed.

Loving the PH response time to incidents, perhaps we should set up some sort of QRF?

Now all the stupid speculation will start. The Beeb and Sky will be scrambling OB vehicles from Woolwich to Stansted. 'Aviation Expert' phones will be red hot. Range Rovers leaving Hereford at speed would be a true barometer of any big incident wink
