Inflatable kayaks- any good?

Hi,

We currently have two sit-ons; a perception scooter and a frenzy. Neither of which we have used for a few years.


I am considering buying a couple of inflatable two-man kayaks so we can take the kids out.

Are they any good? Any harder to paddle than the plastic kayaks we are used to? Any recommendations?

The ability to transport them in the boot of a car is a big positive as my back is now too knackered to lift them onto roof bars too often.

Will they fit in the boot ok?

Have a Sevylor Colorado, even deflated its big and takes up the entire boot of a Corsa. It Doesnt track too well and the sides are quite high and wide which makes for an odd paddling stroke but for bimbling down the slow, wide sections of the River Wye its fine. I wouldnt take it into the sea though.

You can't have your kayak and heat it !
