Either way, that's two of the same craft, from the same operator sunk in near enough the same spot in less than three months.
Makes one wonder if their <ahem> insurance was up to date.

Who investigates these? The Maritime Agency? And how come they have lost 2 whereas Londons seem to float OK.

Having seen the London ones entering the water near Vauxhall I think that may be down more to luck that anything else.
Couple of times I've watched them charge down the slipway, turn downstream and have the water come within a couple of inches of the gunwales. Can't help thinking all the additional crap bolted on to them for tourist operations isn't helping.
Besides, they were only ever meant to do a few trips.... Up the beach at Normandy and then possibly across the Seine and then the Rhine.

I've got a pic somewhere of a van buried under the back of one in London. I'd love to see how he explained not seeing one of these in bright yellow...

It does seem very peculiar. I'm guessing either there is something about that particular slipway they use or could it even be the same vehicle?

As an aside, I've never felt comfortable sharing road space in London with these. They just seem thoroughly unsuitable for driving in a busy city. They don't look too stable on the water either.

Been on them twice in London - cracking couple of hours and felt pretty safe.
Seems strange that they can be operating for years in London without incident and then Liverpool has two problems in close succession...

Been on one a couple of times in Boston MA., and they feel fine there.

I wonder if the ones in Liverpool are maintained to the correct level, or if they just do what they have to get them through whatever tests they have to have.
