the Blue Peter presenting style is awful. can they not present it in a serious manner?

Airport employee "the plane has just had five and a half tonnes of fuel added".

BBC presenter "how much fuel have they put on the aeroplane?"

Great insight, woeful presenters.

Not bad, some stupid questions from the viewers though: "what do you do if you are stacking approaching planes and there is a mechanical fault or a seriously ill passenger on board?"

What the hell do you think they do? Make them wait their turn in the stack and hope the plane doesn't fall out of the sky whilst its waiting?!!

Not bad. Love to see behind the scenes for the link ups and transmission.

Dan Snow was supposed to be the main presenter though, maybe he would have had a better take on it but I bet most people lumped in front camera would waffle inane stuff. Maybe the person in the ear ole ain't helping.

I got bored of it once they started doing the talking in the air tower. As others have said, the presenting seemed to be on a par with the Jubilee Water Pageant thingie last year.

Written for children? Or presented by people with the IQ of children?

Such a missed opportunity, all that great behind the scenes access and interesting people to interview and they have children's TV level inane drivel aimed at simpletons.

I suspect it's a difficult one. To you it's obvious. I have an interest in aviation, and am not surprised by most of it. Some bit's I did not know about like the brake rider.

Other people will have no knowledge and will be learning lots.

I missed this.

Did they cover the art of how to screw the travelling public out of every last penny they can..?

I work at BAMC, where they did the 747 engineering giants programme last year but also spent 6 months last year working at TBC, the offices on the 9th floor above the car park at the BA facility. It's a great place, busy as hell, I've got an interview up there on Friday for a fleet planner position, always interesting smile

Yup, I sounded a bit harsh but like the guy above I found the interviewing in the control tower the final straw. It all sounded a bit like it was aimed at children to me. hehe

There has been loads, not sure what's happening at the moment though. Are you licensed? They have been running approval courses recently, the one 747-400 course has nearly finished, not sure if there are any others happening for now!

What trade are you? A&C or a wiggly amp avio type???

B1 modules passed, just needing some experience and an employer after my apprenticeship finishes!

An interesting programme, aimed at a mixed audience.

Yes, some pros might wince, but it's a good effort for a live broadcast, especially as the original lead presenter, Dan Snow, had to pull out at the 11th hour. So, fair credit to his stand-in.

Saw yesterdays effort and thought the presenting would get on my nerves if it carried on in that vain for two weeks, no major insights but its better than much of the stuff they waste the licence fee on.
