Whereas 'Mosquito Squadron' had a hint of truth about the destruction of a prison wall in order to release captured airmen from the clutches of the Nazis, buried in a far fetched 'Dambusters' style precision attack on an underground rocket factory and a slushy love story featuring David McCallum and Suzanne Neve. And the Château scenes were filmed at "Minley Manor, Hampshire, England, UK" quite close to you, Eric



Any decent documentary about the Mosquito must surely mention the attack on Amiens Prison, 18th February 1944, the inspiration for the film's rescue plot line. It was considered a success despite the 102 dead and 74 wounded inmates who were listed as casualties as a result of the raid, as 258 of the prisoners (out of 700) made their escape.

And its role as Pathfinder and intruder night fighter. Flying loosely with the RAF bomber stream, their job was to destroy Luftwaffe nightfighters. They were told to keep their distance from the heavies because any twin spotted would, very understandably, get shot at.
