Illegal entry to the UK with a jet ski?

I was watching a couple of videos on youtube of some guys going dover to calais by jetski and was wondering just how hard it must be for the illegal chaps to try and enter the country using this method.

Would anyone pick such a small thing up on radar or does this go on and I'm just being naive ?

And before anyone asks, lets just assume they have robbed a couple off a trailer

A jetski hasn't the range, has it? Plenty of small boats do it every day though. I cannot imagine every single one of them is thoroughly checked.

A sizeable sit on jetski could do Calais to Dover easily, they can do 50 miles or more easily at a steady 30-40 knots...

Quite easy they burn a lot of fuel but most have 70+ litre tanks.

A few ofthem maybe, but the whole point of the swarm attack is that they plan to overwhelm with weight of numbers. A few years ago a US carrier battle group on it way in to Bahrain was seriously spooked by a practice attack by the Iranians. No sea room and so many small armed boats in the attack that the assessment was that enough could get through to do serious damage.
