A really interesting chat with one of Boeing's test pilots
Discussion
Had a fascinating chat with a test pilot from Boeing at Oshkosh. I was intrigued to find out how
close the computer modelled flight characteristics were to the real life results. Normally spot on!
He told me the only real surprises were generally system based, i.e. an engine doesn't re-start as predicted
or similar easily rectified problems occur. Also, considering the complexity of the beasts, awe inspiring to hear that some pass post build shake down flights with zero defects, IMHO an incredible achievement!
