Yes.... The child involved is a close family friend. He's being operated on as I write.

Thankfully nobody killed, I'm told due to skill of the pilot (who I know) but some horrific injuries.
It's been a totally s
t year - one of my best chums was killed in his boat (with his daughter) in Cornwall, and now this.

I've not had news on Giles (the pilot) but Oli is not in great shape. Being 'nil by mouth' at 11 is not easy and his legs are in very poor shape.
It will be a slow road to recovery. His rugby aspirations (he was in the A team) may never be realised which is heartbreaking for him.
As with all these types of events, the 'back story' is always deeper and more long-lived than one might first suspect.
